I first heard Sage when I went for a Nyumba Ya Wazee Charity Concert.
Nyumba ya Wazee is an old folks home run by nuns with a global presence,The Little Sisters of The Poor and Sage’s sister thought it best to put together singers and artsy folk to raise money for them and their upkeep.
I had been adequately warned to brace myself against the bubbling awesomeness that would ensue the moment she got on stage.
I have yet not met any singer that can do those chromatic beyoncelike trills. Here I was sitting before one. Just listen.
